About our horses....
Riding in the outdoor
The varied landscape around us with the idyllic field and forest trails, the babbling brooks and rivers, the breath taking panoramic views over the hills, the countless vineyards and sunflower fields, the cosy small villages, the fauna and colorful flora, are paradise for many walkers and cyclists, but also offer us, horse riders, chances for unforgettable treks in an unspoiled nature.
Our Belgian horses and ponies (Opulance, Chalinka and Samber), the Haflinger Miranda and the Rheinlander (Peyo) are well behaved, willing and easy to ride by riders of any age. For the little ones we propose you Sloeber and Jarko, two lovely ponies who find it particularly nice to make a walking tour. With them young riders get to know the techniques of the first equestrian sports, and they adore to be groomed or hugged… Since the summer of 2013 the group has expanded with a typical Pyrenean mountain horse, a “Merens”: Frou Frou. At the beginning, he was a little suspicious, now he has become one of the favourite horses of many riders. Thanks to Frou Frou we can also offer carriage rides with the whole family.
For most of the year the horses stay on the beautiful and large pastures where they can shelter from sun or rain under the trees. The stables, mainly used during the winter months, are discretely located at the rear of the property to ensure no discomfort may be experienced in the rooms or the gîte. For grooming, saddling up, etc. a secure saddle and girth area is provided. Each horse has its own tack and grooming kit. All equipment is neatly stored in the tack room.

In all our organised activities we take into account age, stature and the experience of each rider. The rides are open to both beginners and advanced riders. However, inexperienced and younger riders will be asked to undertake an introductory lesson in order to get to know the horse and to maintain sufficient control. As we have a wealth of tracks of varying difficulty, it is perfectly possible to make a single trip in walk. Riders of varying levels are only included in the same ride, when the most advanced adapts completely to the least advanced. Thanks to our years of experience, knowledge, and the nature around us, we are confident that it will be an unforgettable experience for everyone!
